Tian Tao recently clean and jerked 231kg / 509lbs to set a new world record. He completed the lift at the Tokyo Test Event after missing the previous lift at 220 kg. 

Competing in the 85 kg weight division he won a gold medal at the 2014 Asian Games and a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics, while in 2018 he competed in the 96 kg class and won 3 silver medals at the World Championship.
