Unbreakable’s 10-year anniversary date is March 7, 2023. (Plenty more to come on the fun festivities in March) There are too many ups and downs to count over a decade. But make no mistake, we are proud of the statistic that less than 4% of new businesses survive 10 years. The gym started in my garage in Avon and evolved to what it is today. We continue to do great things: help athletes lose literally tons of pounds of fat while gaining tons of pounds of muscle. We help kids move correctly, send some kids to college to play sports and to the military to serve our country. We host several annual events while raising money and donating to many charities. 2022 was our best year ever in a lot of ways, and 2023 continues to improve.
That’s all great. And we are proud of our successes and accomplishments. Like anything, we still fall short in many areas and are not where we want to be. We are far from perfect. And that’s OK too. We are truly trying to improve daily in all facets. It’s not just lip service. Kaizen is a real thing here.
So, what’s next? It’s one of two answers: 1. Open more gyms to expand our reach and impact. Or 2. Expand our reach and impact on location or virtually with other groups. We are opting for the second route currently. There is an epidemic with unhealthy people nationwide. There are adults and kids who have no idea how to improve physically, nutritionally, or mentally. We are tasked to reach as many as possible to help them improve their health, wellness, and athletic careers.
I am constantly reminded of the idea of my own mortality and limited time, like anyone else. I truly have a sense of urgency. I see such deterioration on so many levels with so many people across the country. And I am by no means a no-it-all expert. But we have accumulated a lot of meaningful lessons and processes here at Unbreakable. Since that’s the case, let’s share them. We will be ever vigilant adhering to our mission of forging unbreakable athletes in mind, body, and spirit.
To that end, we will put out more content in all forms: lectures, workshops, posts, a written book with corresponding manual, videos, guides, and countless more resources. Like anything, it takes a village. So, we are looking for constant improvement in our processes as well. Let us know what’s working and what isn’t. And if you feel our message has meaning and value, then share it with others. Reach out to people directly, one-on-one. You make a difference. One person can move buildings. An entire group can move mountains. We had some great wins over the last 10 years. The next 10 will really be something.
