Connor Maple has trained with us at UAA since Summer 2019. At first Connor was on and off and only training in the summer sessions in 2019 and 2020. He began to workout full time and consistently in December 2020. This coming year he will be a senior at Plainfield High School where he runs track. He is a sprinter running the 100, 200, and the 4X100 relay. Connor began running track in 6th grade and found a sport he excelled in and loved. In the future, Connor would like to go to college and study exercise science and get into sports training and lifting. When he is not training, Connor enjoys spending time with his family (he has 3 brothers), riding bikes, longboarding, running and spending time with his friends. Since Connor began consistently training with us he has seen many improvements in his overall strength and speed. He now has a max bench of 275, max squat of 375, and a max power clean of 245. His fastest Fly 10 is 0.95 and his fastest Fly 20 is 2.64. Connor is also close to holding two school records in track. His fastest 100- 10.89 (only .06 off the school record) and 200- 22.06 (only .09 off the school record) “My favorite part about training at UAA is definitely the atmosphere here, everyone is always here to push each other and reach new goals.” Most recently Connor began helping our coach TJ Gerking with the 13U summer training sessions. “What I enjoy about helping TJ with the younger athletes is being there to help them grow and to make the gym a place they enjoy but also a place they know to put in work.” Connor has consistently been working hard and showing up to training sessions ready to work. He is on time, listens to his coach, and is always willing to work hard. Because of this he is seeing amazing results! “Some advice I’d give to a young athlete joining UAA, is to push yourself to come in and notice the growth and benefits they’ll get not only in the gym but also in their sports.
